Description
Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers, Inc. Children's Oral Health Program is seeking a part-time (10 hrs./week – two 5-hour days mid-September to mid-June) dental hygienist (B.S. preferred) to implement oral health education programs in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Salem, and Ocean Counties. Registered dental hygienists with previous community experience will be considered.
The goal of the Program is to improve the oral health status of New Jersey school children, specifically targeting high need/high-risk schools in identified counties. This position reports to the Regional Oral Health Coordinator.
Requirements
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct outreach and oral health education programs in identified high risk schools
- Coordinate program activities/special initiatives and supply distribution with participating schools
- Provide regular progress updates and program reports to Regional Oral Health Coordinator
The ideal candidate/applicant will possess the following:
- Enthusiasm for promoting children’s oral health
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); public speaking
- Experience providing oral health education for audiences in a school or community-based setting
