Faculty Position in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology

 

The University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine (SODM) seeks candidates for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Clinician Scholar track; the position is available as of July 1, 2023. This is a non-tenurial appointment with potential for promotion in accordance with the University of Connecticut and UConn Health policies and guidelines. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The UConn School of Dental Medicine is located on the UConn Health Farmington campus, which comprises the Schools of Dental Medicine, Medicine (SOM), and Graduate School, dental care center, outpatient medical practices, and the John Dempsey Hospital.

 

The faculty position encompasses didactic teaching of predoctoral and postdoctoral students, participation in UConn’s Oral Pathology Biopsy Service, clinical practice, and precepting. The faculty member will have opportunities to teach in the SODM/ SOM’s integrated team-based biomedical sciences curriculum In addition, the faculty member will be involved in scholarly activities and providing service to the institution. For those interested, there are opportunities for conducting collaborative or original research and for mentoring predoctoral and postdoctoral students in research. 

 

Qualifications

Requirements include a DMD/DDS degree. Applicants must have completed their residency training in Oral Pathology in good standing from a CODA-accredited training program by June 30, 2023. Board eligibility or certification (within 1 year of starting the position) by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology is required.
